An Interview with the Illustrious Spiffy Captain and Co-Captain

By Tarma Black

(For those new to HOL Hogwarts, and/or Quidditch, they are respectively Lilly Stargazer and Cosmo Brown, aka SillyLilly and The Cheeky One.)

<Tarma> Lilly Lilly Lilly
<Tarma> are you around?
<Tarma> are you a square?
<Lilly> *giggles*
<Tarma> or maybe a ... triangle?
<Tarma> :O
<Lilly> ishy..... just getting ready to put boys in bed
<Tarma> she's HERE
<Cosmo> lol
<Tarma> *nods* so what about an interview with you and cosmo ?
<Lilly> sure :)
<Tarma> \o/
<Tarma> Cosmo???
<Cosmo> Works for me, so long as I can HOL-HW multitask. :D
<Tarma> yay! :) here's the supposed topic for this interview
<Tarma> An interview with the current HQT Captain, Lilly Stargazer and Co-Captain Cosmo Brown as the season will be done by then — a summary of the thrills and chills and spills of HQT.
<Tarma> first off, ladies, if you have read the other 'interviews', you will see that I pretty much input them verbatim, although I would sometimes correct typos and stuff
<Lilly> kk
<Tarma> My first question to both of you is this: Did you enjoy this past season?
<Lilly> i enjoyed it very much so! We all played so well together and had fun at the same time
<Cosmo> I enjoyed playing this season, except maybe the last game 'cause I had a not-fabulous connection. That one game that lasted two months, however... um, no comment.
<Tarma> Did you enjoy the 'ranks' that you occupied — ie captain and co-captain? Yes or No or Both — and why and why not?
<Cosmo> (Actually, the last game was fine; I just like to play martyr about the connection.)
<Lilly> lol
<Tarma> i'mignoringyourmartyrdomaboutconnectionscheekyone
<Cosmo> O:)
<Tarma> *ROTFL*
<Cosmo> Co-captaining is awesome because I can always leave the final decisions to Lilly.
<Lilly> at first i was rather nervous about taking over from you who had captained so well..... but then i got into the swing of things and the team and my FABULOUS co-captain made it easier too
<Lilly> and :P
<Tarma> BUTTER BUTTER
<Cosmo> I said it before, and I'll say it again:
<Cosmo> O:)
<Tarma> <3
<Lilly> I couldn't have done it without Cosmo's input..... she was there to calm me down and remind me of stuffs (like..... lilly? didn't you send in that lineup already?)
<Cosmo> (Or... don't we need to provide a ref?)
<Cosmo> (For snitch?)
<Tarma> little things like that?
<Lilly> *nods*
<Lilly> or...... you forgot to log that AGAIN?!
<Tarma> (((and NOW you see why she so readily acquired so many Cheekies)))
<Cosmo> (((To be fair, I kind of started out giving them to myself.)))
<Lilly> lol
<Tarma> Question Two: what would you have done different?
<Lilly> nothing.... honestly nothing well..... okay, maybe to remember more things on my own lol
<Cosmo> Botted more, earlier in the season. But that's not so much with the co-captaining as it is just me.
<Tarma> So, to Cosmo, what would you have done different as co-captain?
<Cosmo> Um... I don't know, to be honest.
<Tarma> :) okay, that's a good answer
<Cosmo> I think, overall, it went pretty smoothly, so not much needed to have been done differently.
<Lilly> *nodsnods*
<Tarma> Question 3 (three): who, or what, was the largest surprise to you in this past season, in reference to the Spiffies
<Lilly> does the ravenclaw game count ?
<Tarma> whatever you like :)
<Cosmo> That game was amazing, if excruciating.
<Lilly> I was so proud to see how well we played against a team that we had done not so well against in the past :)
<Tarma> what about the Ravenclaw game? remember this is for people who might not have seen it
<Lilly> excruciating is a good word the fact that we weren't blown out and that we darn near beat them :)

Special note, because it wasn't addressed in the interview: The Ravenclaw game in question is the match from March 6, which ended with a Ravenclaw win, 230-220. The game lasted the full 90 minutes, with the snitch being caught at the literal last minute. It was a game for the record books, people.

<Cosmo> Also, I'm still boggled — BOGGLED, I say, amazed, flabbergasted, and frankly put to shame by the dedication Kath has given to the team.
<Lilly> yes :) i don't normally like to single any one out cause i don't want others to think i don't notice their hard work..... but omg
<Cosmo> I would have been curled up in the fetal position months ago.
<Lilly> to play a game that requires such use of hands....... and to have your preferred hand in pain AND in a cast/brace/etc and still have the dedication she had? absolutely, incredibly AMAZING
<Tarma> I will add my 3 pence or rather sickles — I remember when she said she'd NEVER get a wpm over 30 or a streak over ? 20 (or whatever it was) and she has met those goals AND surpassed them
<Cosmo> It's always great to see hard work pay off like that. And, really, it's happened with everyone on the team who has showed up and done the work.
<Tarma> yes, indeed — and botting DOES work —
<Lilly> okay back....... and yes it DOES
<Tarma> question 4: what plans/changes/goals do you have (both of you) for the Spiffies for next year? I am assuming (and yes, maybe that is an incorrect assumption)) that you are remaining in those positions next year?
<Lilly> what?! what have you heard?! who has been talking?! i'm losing my captaincy?! *eg*
<Cosmo> Um, Lilly? I think my job is up to you. *g*
<Tarma> *whistles*
<Lilly> as i said before i took this captaincy oh cheekyone.... i wouldn't do it without you :)
<Tarma> that's cuz she IS cheeky
<Cosmo> So, if I were to leave HOL, you'd quit being captain? I didn't realize I had that much power! (Moo ha ha.)
<Tarma> okay um WAIT WAIT let's get back on topic plans/changes/goals :P
<Lilly> well, the obvious goal would be to FINALLY get that quidditch cup back in the huffie common room :)
<Tarma> is that a realistic goal to you?
<Cosmo> Well, to be all srs bsns again, I'd like us to get some new faces in the Locker Room. I mean, I love the faces that are there, but we need some new ones, too.
<Tarma> I see that the Spiffies went UP to #3 this last year, which is very very nice
<Lilly> after the way we played this year i really think so
<Lilly> and yes..... new faces that stick around after term starts would be WONDERFUL
<Tarma> *nods*
<Cosmo> (I'd also like to point out that, in addition to moving up to third place this year, we also were only outscored by 90 points, which was the same point spread as Gryffindor in second place.)
<Tarma> ah, good point, Cosmo :)
<Cosmo> (Which is why, I think, Lilly thinks we've got a chance at the Quidditch Cup.)
<Tarma> OOHHH because we almost BEAT Ravenclaw
<Lilly> i didn't realize that the "outscoring" was that low :D so yes! that's a wonderful thing :)
<Tarma> really truly and they were surprised and astounded OH OH
<Cosmo> I've spent a fair amount of time looking at Quidditch scores. *g*
<Lilly> lol
<Tarma> okay, those are the obvious questions ....
<Lilly> yes, i think some people figured we were the 'weak'? team of past and we surprised and opened quite a few eyes this year :)
<Tarma> *nods* yes, we did :) so what other changes do you intend to make? or are you planning to continue on as you've been doing?
<Lilly> nothing that we would put out there for other teams to be prepared for :) SOME things must remain sacred
<Tarma> ahhh that is true, and folks 'would' be reading this ....
<Lilly> :D
<Cosmo> I think we've got a good thing going, for the most part. I think we could tighten up in a few areas, of course, but I think we're generally on the right track. :) Also, what Lilly said.
* Cosmo defers to o captain her captain.
<Lilly> *giggles*
<Tarma> okay — now each of you — I'd like you to come up with a completely spontaneous thing to contribute to the article — without consulting each other — and post it in its entirety please
<Lilly> ........
<Cosmo> Post what where?
<Tarma> here
<Tarma> OH, is THAT IT?
<Lilly> i'm umm...... not really spontaneous? this is why i don't take classes that want essays or like.... you know..... creativity
<Lilly> just the facts ma'am
<Tarma> ha ha ha!! I thought THOSE were the remarks
<Cosmo> lol
<Lilly> lol
<Tarma> okay :) Well — I would like to add something — I am very very happy that you two are the captain and co-captain. I feel that the reins were passed over to VERY good hands.
<Cosmo> Um... this week I got two CDs: Mozart's Requiem and The Very Best of Bernard Cribbins. It's... rather a broad spectrum. Or did you want something Quidditch-related, Tarma? *cg*
<Tarma> um, COSMO — this IS a quidditch article
<Lilly> well....... that IS quidditch related no?
<Tarma> OH!!! you got it??
<Lilly> she like..... listens to it maybe?
<Tarma> Mozart's Requiem?? Which one did you get?
<Cosmo> You said spontaneous, not spontaneous and Quidditchy. :P
<Lilly> lol
<Cosmo> Um, a different one from yours; I contacted an old professor, who got some recommendations for me.
<Tarma> ah, well, do you like it?
<Cosmo> Yours didn't have quite the right sound.
<Tarma> it did so too
<Cosmo> I think it'll be good. Not perfect, but really.
<Lilly> isn't Mozart well.... Mozart?
<Cosmo> Not the Requiem.
<Tarma> it depends on the conductor, the people who sing it, the orchestra lots and lots of things
<Lilly> ahh my dad has one too then well...... it's like... 4 cd's actually i think
<Cosmo> Mozart died before completing the Requiem, so it was finished by others, and then sort of refinished later and... it's all very messy. Still good, though.
<Tarma> like there are some of Beethoven's Ninth? and some of them are like 'hard' versions DUM DUM DUM DUM and other versions are more playful dum dum dum
<Tarma> oh, and back to the quidditch *cough*
<Lilly> lol
<Cosmo> Oh, yeah. Quidditch!
<Tarma> thank you very much for giving me the attention and time for this interview :)
<Cosmo> Okay, so if my CD comment isn't good enough; how about this?
<Tarma> ITS OKAY
<Cosmo> Join the SQL! And the seeker tournament! It's gonna be AWESOME!
<Cosmo> :D
<Tarma> *giggles* okay :)
<Lilly> or...... come see what hqt is all about........ and stick around after September! it only gets better!!
<Tarma> anyway, thank you, ladies — and good luck next year!! (yeah, I know I'm a spiffy too but I can say that) *halo*
<Lilly> :)
<Cosmo> :)
